HOPE COMMUNITY SCHOOL

hope community School:

Hope Community School is sponsored by New Generation Schools Trust, who established the school in recognition of the need for an additional educational choice in the city centre of Southampton. This new school is designated as of religious character, and is open to children of any or no faith. New Community is the partner church to Hope Community School. We are committed to supporting the school and contributing to it’s Christian ethos. We do this in a number of ways including:

  • Providing chaplaincy to the children, families and staff at the school

  • Volunteers from New Community Church support the school in many different ways: reading 1:1 with children who need a little extra support, running after school clubs, joining in playground fun, helping on school trips, running the prayer shed, supporting school coffee mornings, providing welcome bags for new reception parents, and more! Currently over 30 volunteers give time each week to serve and support the school.

  • Providing a dedicated space for children to engage with our Christian values, think deeply about big issues and pray and reflect. In our temporary accommodation, this is in our prayer shed!

  • Offering  a number of courses and groups to resource and support families in areas such a parenting or mental health – either run by ourselves or some of our fantastic partners across the city.

In addition, our Central Hall premises is the temporary site for the school until the new permanent school is built.
